Nathaniel Fregoso
Higher Education Leader | Film Editor | Creative Strategist
From editing award-winning feature documentaries in Los Angeles to touring international festival stages with The Blood Arm, my career has always been defined by the intersection of storytelling, performance, and operational strategy.
Higher Education Leadership & Innovation
Currently based in Berlin, I serve as the Course Leader for BA (Hons) Filmmaking and Short Courses Manager at MetFilm School Berlin / BIMM University. In this dual role, I bridge academic quality assurance with commercial portfolio growth—overseeing degree delivery, mentoring multi-disciplinary creative faculty, and designing high-margin, scalable educational frameworks.
Parallel to my work on campus, I am completing an institutionally funded MA in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. My research focuses directly on student decision-making dynamics, conversion pipeline optimization, and instructional design for creative professionals.
Film & Post-Production (Los Angeles)
A graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, I spent over a decade as a feature documentary and broadcast editor in Los Angeles. My editing credits include feature documentaries such as The Light in Her Eyes and Whether You Like It or Not: The Story of Hedwig for Academy Award® nominee Laura Nix, alongside broadcast work for Top Chef (Bravo), Sundance promos, and major studio campaigns (Elf, Men in Black, Rambo). My post-production work also includes live performance projects for artists like Weezer, Glen Campbell, and Raphael Saadiq. Full credits and detailed filmography available on IMDb.
Music Industry & Global Operations
My path took an international turn when my indie band, The Blood Arm, was championed by NME and signed to French label Because Music, leading to a decade of recording and touring major European and US festivals (Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Hurricane). My music industry footprint extends to running an independent record label, RIP Ben Lee Records, negotiating international sync licensing placements for shows like Gossip Girl and Shameless, and managing broadcast media production.
Additionally, my ten-year tenure founding and leading the German logistics branch for Paper Cavalier established deep expertise in P&L management, international supply chains, and multi-market branch development.
Today, I combine creative artistry, commercial discipline, and research-led teaching to empower the next generation of filmmakers and creative leaders.
